Our Troop meeting was held at the Whiffen's home. At the meeting we planned out our campout, worked on the display of the flag outdoors and practiced setting up the tents. Mr. John taught them the correct way to fold the flag, military style - it was very impressive and will only get better as the boys improve.
Our food for the campout is the following
Friday Night- Chicken Pot Pie (JT is very excited about this) Brownies for dessert!
Saturday Breakfast- Pancakes, bacon eggs and Orange Juice
Saturday Lunch- Hamburgers with all the condiments and a fruit salad
A birthday Cake for Ean- Go Ean!
Saturday dinner- Turkey and Rice Casserole with potatoes and ham au gratin- And leftover fruit salad
Sunday Breakfast- bacon, egg cheese Breakfast tacos with hashbrowns (Eric's request) and bananas.
The boys went over their menu and made sure that the food groups were present at the meals to keep it balanced.
At the campout the boys can bring their bikes for some hiking and bring swimsuits and towels, we hope to take them swimming if it all works out. We will also be testing them on their first aid in a first aid "relay" setting, playing a scout skills game and identifying local poisonous plants.
JT will make assignments for cooking and cleaning
And last but not least our Liberty patrol yell is "FFFFFFRRRRRRRREEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!"
so have the boys practice that!
Thanks
